Do-it-yourself digital picture frame
or how to turn an old laptop into something useful
Digital picture frame running Windows 2000
Here's a little screenshot I took after installing Windows 2000 and most of the software I intend to be using on the picture frame. The following stuff was installed:
- AcdSee32 - a great image viewer to select the pictures I'd want to be displayed
- eMule - the well-known P2P software
- Opera - my favourite browser
- RealVNC - enables me to remote control the picture frame
- WinAmp - just about the best music player in the world
To provide some protection for the laptop, ZoneAlarm and AVG AntiVirus were installed as well.
